Here’s a fun question for you…
What do YOU own that people want? Would someone want your exotic car? Your Hugo Boss wardrobe? People notice good taste…and style experts say what defines your taste more than cars or clothes… is in the kind of original art you hang in your home. I’ve always liked art, probably because I grew up around it; in fact, my sister’s an artist. Everything you see here, she’s painted. It gets to hang on my walls for free until she sells it. Nice huh? But let’s say your sister’s not an artist and you can’t freeload off her talent like I do, yet you would like to have beautiful original art in your home. What do you do? A company called Artify.it, may have the answer…It makes expensive original art available by, renting it!
For a fraction of what it would cost to buy, Artify.it will rent it to you, starting at $50.00 a month. They will even install and deliver the art work to your home or business. What’s more, Artify it offers variety. Let’s say you’re you’re bored with the painting, or you change the look of your place…You can simply send it back and rent a different piece. It’s like being J.Paul Getty without the overhead. This San Francisco company takes a high-end niche product like art and makes it available to regular people like you and me. This business model is called “collaborative consumption.” It’s not unlike what they do with corporate jets or sharing exotic vacation villas.
The startup of Artify.it is so promising that execs from Google and PayPal have bought in; to the tune of $1 million. Which begs the question. What could YOU rent or lease so that more people can enjoy your high-end experience?
Is it inappropriate if I mention that I’m available for lease? You know, to hire me to speak to your company? Not the time?
Fair enough.
