Customer service is lame because too many organizations have assumed all the customer wants is a transaction. That’s not at all what they want. They live time-starved lives so they need you to be empathetic. They need you to be an expert at your business (a Trusted Advisor). they need you to understand that they have very little time to complete all of the tasks in their lives…and that YOU are the solution provider. Service isn’t just saying, “Is there anything else?” or “No problem.” The new service means creating REAL relationships…emotional bonds…so that your customers will want to spend time with – and more importantly – they will be insistent their friends do business with you.
