I just had a great customer experience at Nordstrom’s Rack. I was in the store shopping and hear the sound of two beautiful voices behind me say “I’m here to check you out” and before I could let the compliment wash over me, I turn around and, they really were there “just to check me out”. The sales team wears “I’m here to check you out” T-shirts, and is equipped with hand held check out scanners. Two brilliant things going on here. The T-shirts obvisouly had a double meaning, it was triggering a response and announcing a convenience. Not only does it get your attention, but the hand held scanner increases the speed of the transaction. In a world where customers demand urgency, why not get a smile, a bargain and a quick sale all at the same time? Maybe you could think of a slogan that would get your customers attention…and improve the customer experience. This is Michael Burger for the Relevant Report.
